The Scenery of the Other Side by Yoko Furusho was made into a print to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Amelia's Magazine. This image also appears in the book That Which We Do Not Understand (available from this shop).
The Scenery of the Other Side was inspired by Japanese ideas of the afterlife, following the recent loss of her grandfather. ‘Souls must cross a huge river, and are first judged by the King of Hell. Cows and horses carry the good souls to heaven and my illustration shows what I think this might look like.’
